The three main hormones affected during peri/menopause are progesterone, oestrogen and testosterone. Hormones affect most parts of the body including the reproductive system, the brain, circulation, digestion, liver, kidneys, immune system, nerves, muscles etc. When the hormones are in balance the body systems work well together at their best. However, if one or more hormone is too high/low or missing it plays havoc on whole body and this explains the wide variation of menopausal symptoms women experience. At your first appointment we will discuss the particular symptoms you are experiencing and plan reflexology specifically for you.

Leaves the face glowing and radiant, improves circulation to the face and head area, improves lymphatic drainage, helps relieve congestion/sinusitis, can help with headaches/migraines, relaxes muscles in the face and eases tension, relieves mental strain.

Ends with a relaxing head massage.

Facial reflexology for stress relief

A 12 point facial reflexology sequence to reduce stress for health and wellbeing. All the health and well being benefits of foot reflexology as well as a rejuvenating effect on the skin. Leaves the face glowing and radiant, improves circulation to the face and head area, improves lymphatic drainage, helps relieve congestion/sinusitis, can help with headaches/migraines, relaxes muscles in the face and eases tension, relieves mental strain. Ends with a relaxing head massage.

Chinese foot massage

In Chinese foot massage each point on the sole of the foot corresponds to an internal organ in the body. Energy called 'chi' flows upwards through conduits in the foot throughout the rest of the body. Chinese Meridian theory believes the body has a network of energy channels through which chi energy flows. Free flowing energy represents good health, whereas energy blockages can cause dis-ease. Blockages are released by applying pressure to acupressure points located along the meridians.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The massage begins with a pleasurable soaking of the feet in a foot bath containing natural ingredients specifically chosen for your needs. The heated mixture warms up the feet. During the foot soak, you will receive a relaxing hand massage concentrating on specific reflex/acupoints on the hands. After the foot soak and hand massage, you will be able to lie back and enjoy a foot and calf massage. Chinese Tuina massage techniques are used to stimulate movement of energy through the meridians and the muscles, and specific reflex/acupressure points on the feet will be stimulated to encourage healing throughout the body. Movements are traditionally quite brisk and usually with firm pressure, although this can be adjusted to suit your preference.

Reflexology supporting migraines and headaches

Migraines and headaches affect many of us and can cause a variety of intense symptoms. There are number of things that can bring on a migraine including hormonal changes, diet, stress, physical tension etc.

Using a combination of facial reflexology (Ziggie Bergman technique), head and neck massage and foot reflexology. This treatment aims to support you with headache and migraine symptoms by easing tension and helping you feel more relaxed overall.

It focuses on

💆 Specific reflexes and pressure points on the face including the sinus, occipital, eye, migraine release point, hypothalamus and adrenal reflexes
💆 Easing tension in muscles in the face, head and neck
👣 Specific reflex points on the feet including the head, neck, occipital ridges, trapezius, shoulders, chest, spine, digestive and endocrine systems

Mind & Body Reset

This popular treatment was designed specifically to reset mind and body afresh.

It includes a combination of face/head reflexology, massage and lymphatic drainage to help calm the mind, ease tension and clear congestion; and foot reflexology using techniques focusing on deeper rest and relaxation, ending with Tuina (Chinese massage) to help stimulate movement of energy through the meridians. Using beautiful, uplifting geranium and lemon facial oil and citrus foot wax.

Manual lymphatic drainage

This is a gentle, flowing rhythmic massage that aims to promote optimal functioning of the lymphatic system, by stimulating the movement of lymph fluid through the lymph vessels. It can help with detoxification, improving energy, building immunity, reduced swelling and improved vitality and appearance.

The techniques involve a very light pressure, with gentle strokes, directing lymph towards the nearest lymph nodes around the body including neck, arms, underarms, legs, groin, abdomen, head, face. The collarbone area and chest are also included to encourage drainage.

This 60 minute treatment is designed to remind you to pause for a little while, slow down, let the busy/excited energy settle and to help you feel more grounded, centred and relaxed.

🌻next, slow and deep grounding reflexology* and lower leg massage to help with circulation

Jo-Anne offers clinical reflexology and other complementary therapies from her therapy cabin in Winchburgh (and home visits in Linlithgow/surrounding area). Her overall aim is to support your health and well being. A holistic approach is taken which means your lifestyle factors are considered with a view to improving your overall well being.

Jo-Anne specialises in women's wellbeing including menopause support, pre-conception and maternity support. She is also trained in supporting those living with chronic conditions and cancer care.

Treatments are given in a comfortable and relaxed environment with a full, confidential consultation carried out before the first treatment. Home visits are available by arrangement.
